Last night, the Delta Center in Salt Lake City witnessed a mind-blowing collision of musical worlds when progressive metal titans Tool welcomed renowned bluegrass guitarist Billy Strings to the stage for an electrifying collaboration during their Fall tour.

Speculation about the unexpected guest performance began to swirl when Billy Strings shared intriguing photos on social media depicting his encounters with Tool’s legendary drummer, Danny Carey, in the hours leading up to the concert.

“Holy shit… wow. Thank you TOOL, for having me up on a tune last night. It was such an incredible honor to pluck a few notes with you legends!!!! I’m never coming down from this one🤘,” said Strings on social media.

Known for his distinctive jamgrass style and a deep-rooted love for heavy metal, Billy Strings made a grand entrance early in Tool’s set, gripping an electric guitar and igniting a roaring wave of anticipation among the lucky crowd in attendance.

Strings, a Michigan native, injected his unique energy into Tool’s complex and hypnotic arrangements, creating a rare synergy that could only be spawned from such a special guest appearance. The audience was treated to an unparalleled fusion of metal and bluegrass as the virtuoso guitarist flawlessly navigated the intricate rhythms and melodies of Tool’s 2007 hit “Jambi,” featured on Tool’s 2007 studio album 10,000 Days.
