Australia’s beloved Rum Jungle band is making waves once again, this time with the release of their latest single, “Did The Morning Let You Down.” The track marks the first glimpse into what promises to be an electrifying year for the band as they embark on their first-ever 14-date UK/EU tour.

The band, renowned for their laid-back vibes and infectious melodies, unveiled the music video for their new single just as they kicked off their tour. Rum Jungle’s popularity is soaring, with sold-out shows in London, Bristol, and Manchester already under their belt. Moreover, they’re slated to grace the stages of prestigious festivals like The Great Escape, FOCUS in Wales, and A Stones Throw Festival in Newcastle.

Reflecting on the creative process behind “Did The Morning Let You Down,” the band members shared insights from their studio experience at Sonora Studios. Amidst cheap barbecue lunches, potent cocktails, and late-night jam sessions, Rum Jungle crafted a song that captures the essence of their camaraderie and musical synergy.

Frazer, one of the band members, expressed immense gratitude, stating, “It is with a huge amount of gratitude that we present to you all a song in which we had the most fun we have ever had while recording.”

Benny, another member, delved into the inspiration behind the track, saying, “You’d be lying to yourself if there hasn’t been a morning in your life that you’ve not been stoked with the events of the night before or something’s weighing you down and that morning it hits you hard. Mistakes get made, shit goes wrong, everything’s tough for everyone in their own relative state. What this one is about, though, is pickin’ up and rollin’ on and understanding the world is the way it is and finding that thing, person, or reason to charge on with some sonic stability.”

Rum Jungle’s previous EP, Hold Me In The Water, significantly impacted the charts, debuting at #3 on the ARIA Vinyl Album Charts and #12 on the ARIA Australian Album Charts in November. Their lead single from the EP, “Dash Of Speed,” also made waves, landing at #199 in the Triple J Hot 200 of 2023.

With “Did The Morning Let You Down” serving as a precursor to what’s to come, fans can anticipate a year filled with more infectious tunes and memorable performances from Rum Jungle as they continue to captivate audiences in Australia and abroad.
