Foo Fighters to Re-Open Washington DC’s 9:30 Club With Concert Tonight

By Stu Kelly / September 9, 2021

The Foo Fighters will play a special homecoming show at the 9:30 Club tonight marking the first show in over 18 months for the beloved independent venue. The Foo Fighters, who also re-opened Madison Square Garden earlier this year, will play to only 1,200 fans tonight.

Yesterday around 10 a.m. EST the venue confirmed Dave Grohl and company were the surprise show they had been teasing for weeks. A few years ago the Foo Fighters played a similar surprise show at the Black Cat, another locally praised venue on 14th Street NW. Grohl also happens to be a co-owner of the Black Cat.

Tickets are currently sold out. There was a limit of two per person. Tickets are also non-transferable and must be picked up at will call tonight. Fans must also be vaccinated or have proof of a negative PCR Covid test.
