Mountain Grass Unit Announces Ambitious Summer 2025 Tour

Birmingham-based bluegrass ensemble Mountain Grass Unit has unveiled their most extensive tour yet, the Summer 2025 “Runnin’ From Trouble Tour.” Spanning fifty shows from mid-May through early September, this ambitious trek will bring the rising quartet’s electrifying performances to audiences nationwide.

The tour includes stops at some of the country’s most revered bluegrass festivals, including Delfest and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, as well as an array of intimate venues and open-air theaters. With their signature fusion of traditional and contemporary bluegrass, Mountain Grass Unit is poised to captivate fans, new and old.

Comprised of Drury Anderson (mandolin, vocals), Luke Black (guitar, vocals), Josiah Nelson (fiddle, vocals), and Sam Wilson (bass, vocals), Mountain Grass Unit has garnered a reputation for pushing the boundaries of bluegrass. Their music reflects a deep reverence for the genre’s roots and a willingness to experiment, comparing them to icons like Tony Rice while drawing inspiration from contemporary trailblazers such as Billy Strings.

The “Runnin’ From Trouble Tour” follows the success of their 2024 EP, Runnin’ From Trouble, which received critical acclaim from outlets like Relix Magazine, praising their “top-notch live act” and “combination of intricate harmonies, youthful energy, and choice musicianship.” Produced by Mike Harris and mixed by Morgan Jahnig, both of Old Crow Medicine Show, the EP has further solidified the band’s place as one of the most exciting acts in modern bluegrass.

(9/4). Notable festival appearances include Cumberland, MD’s Delfest (5/23-24); Swanzey, NH’s Northlands Music and Arts Festival (6/13-15); Alta, WY’s Grand Targhee (8/8-9); and Charlestown, RI’s Rhythm and Roots Festival (8/31). Ticket sales for Mountain Grass Unit’s 2025 Summer Tour will commence via a Seated presale, beginning Tuesday, February 18, at 10 AM venue local time.
