Slipknot Announces 2024 North American 25th Anniversary Tour, Unveils New Drummer

By Stu Kelly / April 30, 2024

Slipknot, the iconic heavy metal band, is set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their groundbreaking 1999 self-titled album with a monumental Summer 2024 North American tour. Adding to the excitement, the band has confirmed that former Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande will take over percussion duties.

The tour’s first leg will kick off on August 6 in Noblesville, Indiana, culminating with a show in Toronto on August 17. Following a brief interlude, the second leg will commence on September 7 in Auburn, Washington. It will wrap up with the highly anticipated Knotfest Iowa festival on September 21 in the band’s hometown of Des Moines.

“Every time I’ve walked onstage, it’s never been about how many people have been there because my culture, the maggots, always show up,” founding member Shawn “Clown” Crahan said in a statement reflecting on the significance of the anniversary tour. “But as we’ve grown as a band, we have had fewer and fewer of those intimate, personal moments, trading them for massive ones. So we’re gonna make it more personal on the anniversary.… Just get ready to have your face kicked in, because we just do what we do, spread that maggot culture—that disease. And you’ve been infected.”

Fans who have followed Slipknot’s recent performances have been treated to a nostalgic journey as the band has donned 1999-inspired red jumpsuits and masks. At recent club shows in Pioneertown and their co-headlining appearance at Sick New World, Slipknot thrilled audiences by delivering electrifying renditions of tracks from their self-titled album.

The North American headlining dates add to Slipknot’s already jam-packed schedule, which includes previously announced US festival appearances at Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple, Rocklahoma, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock.

For eager fans looking to secure their tickets, a Knotfest.com artist pre-sale begins today, April 30, at noon ET. Following that, a Live Nation pre-sale will commence on Wednesday, May 1, at 10 a.m. local time, utilizing the code SOUNDCHECK. Finally, general ticket sales will launch via Ticketmaster on Friday, May 3, at 10 a.m. local time. StubHub offers a solution with their Fan Protect program for those seeking last-minute tickets or sold-out dates, ensuring a secure and guaranteed purchase.
