Goose Announce New Album ‘Everything Must Go’ and Release First Single [Listen]

Goose has announced their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Everything Must Go, set for release on April 25 via No Coincidence Records. The 14-track album is the follow-up to 2022’s Dripfield and marks a significant chapter in the band’s evolution. Fans have already been treated to a taste of what’s to come with releasing the album’s lead single, “Give It Time.”

Everything Must Go is the quintet’s first studio release in three years and their first since drummer Cotter Ellis joined the band, replacing founding member Ben Atkind. The album, produced by D. James Goodwin, promises to capture the dynamic energy of Goose’s live performances with fan-favorite songs like “Thatch,” “Animal,” “Red Bird,” and “Silver Rising” included in the tracklist.

“‘Give it Time’ is a product of Goose’s reconfiguration and reinvention in 2024. I feel like this song showed itself to us at just the right moment,” singer/guitarist Rick Mitarotonda says. “We’d played around with it for a while but it wasn’t until we started rehearsing with the new formation of the band that it clicked. The arrangement came together in real-time just as the band was emerging from this difficult moment and reintroducing ourselves. And so it feels like an anthem of that time — the doubt, the excitement, and the possibility of something new. It felt significant that the song is about patience and letting things come to you and that’s exactly what happened here.”

Singer and multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach doubled down on the significance of the band’s first single. “‘Give It Time’ is a triumphant celebration of how far this band has come. From playing small bars and driving our van through the night to playing Madison Square Garden; our journey has been an adventure full of perseverance and brotherhood. To me, everyone singing together in harmony on the last chorus is the personification of that bond we’ve built together to get to this point.”

To celebrate the release, Goose will embark on an extensive summer tour, beginning May 25 with a performance at the BottleRock festival in Napa, California. The band will then journey through the Pacific Northwest, stopping in Bend, Oregon (May 30), Spokane, Washington (May 31), and Boise, Idaho (June 1).

The tour continues with shows in Las Vegas (June 3), Phoenix (June 4), and Greenwood Village, Colorado (June 6 and 7), followed by stops in Chesterfield, Missouri (June 10 and 11), and Indianapolis (June 12). Goose will also make appearances at major festivals, including Bonnaroo and All Good Now, before heading to Wilmington, North Carolina (June 17), Cleveland (June 19 and 20), and Canandaigua, New York (June 21).

A headline performance at the Mountain Jam festival on June 22 will be a tour highlight, followed by a show in Gilford, New Hampshire (June 27). The band’s highly anticipated debut headlining performance at Madison Square Garden is set for June 28, with the tour wrapping up on June 29 in their home state of Connecticut at New Haven’s Westville Music Bowl.

Tickets for the summer tour will go on sale this Friday, January 31, at 10 a.m. local time, following presales throughout the week. The 3-LP set will be presented on 180G vinyl with a limited edition red/yellow/blue ecomix variant available exclusively through Goose’s website.
