Dead & Company to Celebrate Grateful Dead’s 60th Anniversary with Three Shows in San Francisco

Dead & Company will return to the stage this summer for a three-night run in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead with a series of historic hometown concerts set for August 1st-3rd.

The performances mark a major milestone for fans of the legendary jam band and its enduring legacy. Sixty years after the Grateful Dead first came together in the Bay Area, members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart will reunite with Dead & Company bandmates John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, and Jay Lane for what promises to be a momentous weekend of music and remembrance.

The shows will be Dead & Company’s first outside of Las Vegas since their “Final Tour” wrapped in 2023. They also coincide with the 10th anniversary of Dead & Company’s formation, adding another layer of significance to the occasion.

In true Dead fashion, each night will feature a high-profile guest to open the festivities. On Friday, August 1st — which would have been Jerry Garcia’s 82nd birthday — bluegrass phenom Billy Strings will kick things off. On Saturday, August 2nd, country outlaw-turned-psychedelic rock revivalist Sturgill Simpson will perform under his alter ego, Johnny Blue Skies. Rounding out the weekend on Sunday, August 3rd, will be Trey Anastasio Band, led by the Phish frontman and longtime friend of the Grateful Dead family.

Golden Gate Park holds deep symbolic value for the band and its fans, having served as a key backdrop in the Dead’s formative years. The upcoming concerts are expected to draw thousands of Deadheads from across the country to celebrate six decades of music, community, and improvisational spirit.

A general ticket on-sale for three-day tickets begins Friday, May 30th, at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster. Three-day tickets start at $635 ($556 + $79 fees). Single-day tickets will be available soon, starting at $245 ($209 + $36 fees). Tickets will be available once they go on sale here.
